Physical Requirements
Lift pushing and pulling of objects over 20lbs is not expected. It is expected the individual will not be sitting for long periods of time. The individual will be required to wear protective equipment and be expected to work with pathogens with known risk to human health. Training will be provided.
Shift
Total hours will be 37.5 it is anticipated that the vast majority of this will be Monday – Friday between 8:30am – 5:00pm. Due to the nature of research the daily start time and end of day may shift but it is not exceed to be more than 8 hours in a day and not more than 40 hours in a week.
Job Summary
The individual will work on National Institutes of Health (NIH) – funded projects study innate immune responses, particularly the interferon system, to protect against viral and non-viral diseases.
We study how IRF3 performs antiviral functions in virus-infected cells. Currently, we have several ongoing projects in our laboratory to study both pathways of IRF3 in viral and non-viral pathogenesis.

Additional responsibilities include lab management, organization, training new personnel in the lab.
