Scientific Research Analyst II
Medicine-Tulane Research Innovation for Arrhythmia Discoveries
Location:  New Orleans, LA
Summary
The Scientific Research Analyst II develops and maintains large databases for the purposes of research, conducts data research and analyses. The Scientific Research Analyst II also provides assistance to the PI with preparing manuscript publications and dissemination reports, as well as grant writing and submissions.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Highly proficient computer skills and an excellent working knowledge of statistical software applications
• Ability to effectively manage large and/or complex datasets.
• Highly proficient data research and analysis skills
• Technical skills and competencies to conduct rigorous and ethical research in a wide range of classical techniques of cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry.
• Ability to easily learn and improve new research techniques
• Ability to meticulously record research data and maintain a computer database
• Great attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; good manuscript and grant writing skills; familiarity with manuscript publication and grants submission processes and procedures.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments.
• Ability to work well independently and demonstrate proficient problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain good working relationships.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performance.
Required Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in scientific field and two years’ of directly related research experience
Compensation Information
This position is classified as "non-exempt, hourly" and is assigned to pay grade 25.
