Occupational Summary

In a service-oriented way, work to develop educational resources and implementation of training and support related to conflict of interest review, management and reporting as well as research integrity in general. Resources include workshops, town hall meetings, presentations, best practice guidance documents and written communication about research integrity. Work with researchers within Duke University to ensure effective research integrity and COI practices are in place. Assist in the development and implementation of appropriate training and support services around scientific integrity.

Communicate with faculty and researchers regarding COI policies, procedures, regulations, management and federal reporting.

Develop and execute project plans for the review, management and reporting of COI and other research integrity initiatives. Develop timelines and milestones and execute projects to meet those.

Investigate and help develop methods and tools for improving the collection, management and delivery of COI-related information.

Coordinate with other offices as appropriate regarding COI review, management and reporting issues.

Compile and prepare reports related to office objectives to demonstrate progress, trends, conclusions and recommendations.

Serve as a liaison with internal offices essential to the performance of COI review, management and reporting.

Other duties as assigned.


Education/Training:

Requires Bachelor’s degree


Experience:

Requires five years of experience, preferably in a research environment


Skills:

Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively interact with individuals at all levels in the organization.

Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing tasks and doing multiple tasks in the same time frame.

Ability to analyze and interpret complex scientific grants and data management plans

Minimum Qualifications
Education

Work requires a bachelor of science, preferably one that is strong in the management of large amounts of data. Advanced degree preferred.


Experience

Requires five years of experience preferably in a laboratory research environment
