The Scientific Instructional Technician 2 will provide critical oversight for instructional laboratories in the physical and biological sciences (biology, geology, chemistry, physics) for the sciences and engineering students with primary emphasis on building, equipment, and instrumentation maintenance.

Duties include: (1) provision of administrative, logistical, and financial support required for operation of the Sciences (2) instructional support of science laboratories and independent student projects; and (3) inspect, maintain, operate, and adjust major equipment such as gas chromatograph (GC) with FID and ECD detectors, high pressure liquid chromatograph (HPLC) with multiple detectors, fourier transform infrared (FTIR), mass spectrometer (MS), nutrient analyzer, atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS), and particle analyzer;  (4) upkeep and student and faculty instruction in the use of large-scale and small-scale, modern field and lab equipment (i.e. fume hoods, microscopes, pipettes, computer software/updates/licenses, plotter, etc.) and laboratory instrumentation.
