Position Highlights | Research support for current postdoc Dr. Daniel Smith. This position will write code for simulations that build on the Masel lab's previously developed variable density lottery model (Bertram & Masel 2019). In the new code to be written, simulated juveniles within a single territory will experience density-dependent mortality. Duties & Responsibilities | Under direction of PI and postdoc, contribute to the design of code using Python for simulations. Aid in defining research objective and methodology by applying the density lottery model to further explore density-dependent mortality. Through Computer programming, supports the development of routine design and outline strategy for data management- consult/collaborates with Postdoc to understand and develop code using Python. Meet regularly to trouble shoot and evaluate progress. Utilize established statistical and analytical techniques to routinely process and analyze data Communicates/meets with PI and postdoc to evaluate project outcomes and recalibrate approach as necessary. |
