Responsibilities

  • Ensure students meet course and institutional outcomes in all biology, chemistry, and natural science courses.
  • Monitor course materials and grade and attendance reports to ensure course outcomes are met and rigor upheld.
  • Ensure all documentation, reporting, and instructional activities are in compliance with all standards, competencies, policies, and guidelines as set forth by program accreditors and Bryant & Stratton College.
  • Teach minimum of 3 classes per term as required.
  • Develop, implement, and assess strategies and techniques for improved student retention and success.
  • Represent College at open houses, high school events, new faculty orientations, student recognition ceremonies, etc.
  • Facilitate the hiring, scheduling, and evaluation of subject-area instructors.
  • Work closely with academic advisors and faculty to ensure student needs are addressed within and outside of the classroom.
  • Monitor course materials and grade and attendance reports to ensure course outcomes are met and rigor upheld.
  • Serve on college committees as needed and participate in campus events.
  • Provide coaching, training, and information to science faculty.
  • Serve on college committees as needed.
  • Collaborate with departments that Science supports to ensure student needs are addressed within and outside of the classroom.
  • Participate in annual classroom observations for faculty.
  • Supervise federal work-study students when applicable.
  • Monitor, inventory, order and restock science lab supplies.
  • Create annual budget requests for lab supplies.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Dean of Instruction.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Biology or related field required.
  • Other acceptable degrees: MD or related medical field.
  • Non-teaching work and supervisory experience at a substantive level strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership and teaching skills.
  • Exceptional leadership, facilitation, and written and oral communications skills.
  • Demonstrated competence in developing others, maintaining confidentiality, managing detail, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong team player with demonstrated ability to forge supportive partnerships within and between departments.
  • Knowledge of computer software and research databases.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and student success.
  • Commitment to continuous curriculum enhancement and application of best practices.
  • Ability to make meaningful and positive connections with diverse student body in a career college environment.

Salary: $63,000
