Position Title School of Performing Arts - Director of Choral Studies - Full-Time Faculty/Tenure-Track
Position Summary
The Collinsworth School of Performing Arts at California Baptist University invites applications for a full-time/tenure-track position of Director of Choral Studies. Duties will include teaching courses in the choral arts, conducting assigned choral ensembles, including CBU’s premier mixed chamber choir, Camerata, and supervising the graduate program in choral conducting.
Pay Range
The compensation for this appointment will range from $80,000-$90,000 annually and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this faculty appointment. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits.
Qualifications
Qualified applicants must have an earned doctorate degree in choral conducting from an accredited institution or commensurate experience in the field. Further qualifications include substantial choral conducting experience as well as experience teaching conducting at the university level.
Teaching Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include teaching courses in the choral arts, conducting choral ensembles, and directing the graduate program in choral conducting. The ideal candidate will embrace collaborative engagements within the school, forge a consistent recruitment model for the choral arts division and actively represent the university and its mission both regionally and nationally. The candidate will also be expected to maintain an active program of personal scholarship and service to the university and community.
