Global and Rural Women's Health Program

The UAB Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology announces the opening of a new faculty position to bolster its global and rural women's health portfolio. Recruitment is for tenure-track or non-tenure earning faculty applicants with MD or PhD degrees at all ranks. The primary focus of this position is research towards the advancement of science in the area of women's health in the global and/or rural context. Areas of particular interest include epidemiology, behavioral science, family planning, gynecologic cancers, and reproductive health. The faculty member will also be engaged in educating medical students, residents and fellows within the Department.
The UAB Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology currently ranks as the 10th highest NIH-funded Ob/Gyn program and the institution as a whole is ranked 22nd. The Department is very committed to growing its current research, education, and implementation efforts in global and rural women's health through a bidirectional approach. In addition to a growing research portfolio in rural Alabama, the department has a strong presence in Latin America (Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia), Africa (Cameron, Zambia), Asia (Sri Lanka), and the Pacific Islands (Guam, Yap) through ongoing research, education, and/or implementation efforts. Required Qualifications:
