Summary of Job Duties:

This position is responsible for processing certifications/verification through the VA-Enrollment Manager portal on a regular basis, both pre- and post-registration and assisting students with questions related to VA benefits, in-person, over the phone, and via email. This position accepts responsibilities for interpreting, explaining, and analyzing VA policy and changes and evaluating and monitoring the student eligibility for benefits processing associated with this designation. This position is responsible for maintaining and preparing documentation for annual and semi-annual compliance audits from State and Federal agencies. This position will provide excellent customer service. This position is responsible for assisting with the process of federal military education benefits and supervision of VA workstudy students. This position is responsible for tracking laws and regulations that might affect the organization’s policies specific to military education benefits. This position will work closely with campus and community partners to process military educational benefits. Working hours are from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel

Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education

  • Experience with VA-ONCE or VA Enrollment Manager and/or managing databases

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledge of customer service techniques

  • Knowledge of and the ability to use computerized management information systems (databases) are required

  • Keyboarding and data entry skills are required

  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are required

  • The ability to learn and follow complex procedures and detailed policies is required

  • The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required

  • Ability to analyze financial information and prepare reports

Salary Information:


$40,000 - $44,000 (Commensurate with education and experience)
