Position Highlights

The Schedule for Success Program Coordinator position is within THINK TANK, a department within the division of Student Success and Retention Innovation. Under the direction of Associate Director, the Coordinator is responsible for the operation and management of the Schedule for Success program. The Coordinator works closely and cooperatively with key University departments and services to ensure the academic and personal support needs of students are effectively addressed.

The Schedule for Success program is geared towards getting first-year students who place into pre-college level math to math readiness and engage with campus resources within their first year. The Coordinator serves as the main point of contact and liaison with other components of the Schedule for Success program, THINK TANK department, and campus partners including but not limited to the MATH 100 Instructional team. The Coordinator implements enrollment into MATH 100 and SAS 100AX, leads orientation initiatives, marketing outreach to students, and data management. The person selected for this position will be expected to be optimistic, innovative, flexible, forward thinking, and adaptable.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for coordination of the Schedule for Success program including tracking and reporting of student participation, keeping accurate data regarding enrollment and performance outcomes, and course enrollment.
  • Responsible for the overall management and enrollment of students in Schedule for Success.
  • Responsible for the overall data collection and management of students in Schedule for Success.
  • Coordinates email campaigns, text campaigns, and calling campaigns for Schedule for Success.
  • Responsible for developing content for publications, reports, websites, tracking systems and communication to students to increase persistence to graduation.
  • Work collaboratively to contribute to the overall assessment and evaluation of programs and services offered by THINK TANK, specifically Schedule for Success, while producing an annual publication that tells the program story to campus colleagues and external constituents.
  • Prepare reports and proposals (including progress reports, annual reports, and statistical summaries) as required by the Associate Director of THINK TANK.
  • Provide leadership in the annual development, planning, coordination, scheduling and implementation of the Schedule for Success program dates and activities, ensuring that timelines and relevant tasks are accomplished.
  • Work closely with colleagues within and outside of THINK TANK to ensure that student programming and services are delivered to serve high numbers of at-risk students in the most effective manner.
  • Work with the THINK TANK Marketing Specialist in the design and coordination of marketing and informational tools used to promote and increase awareness of the goals, services and benefits of Schedule for Success.
  • Work collaboratively with information technology personnel of the division to improve and maintain systems that support Schedule for Success, including student administration systems, websites, and outcomes reporting/usage tracking.
  • Assist in the development, coordination, and implementation of annual goals and objectives for THINK TANK.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director THINK TANK.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: 

  • Advanced skills using digital technology including social media, webinar programs, marketing programs such as Trellis Marketing Cloud, etc.
  • Knowledge of a full range of programs and services that promote a strong first-year student experience and retention.
  • Knowledge of university systems, procedures, business rules to support the implementation of programmatic opportunities to students being served.
  • Knowledge of issues affecting the various transitions of students in higher education, and specifically for students who are unlikely to persist to graduation.
  • Knowledge of the national research addressing the needs of the issues and students.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and successfully perform duties autonomously.
  • Strong project management and tracking skills.
  • Strong communication skills including public speaking and the ability to interact effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work closely and effectively with multiple departments, organizations, and individuals in a complex environment.
  • Proficiency with basic computer programs and systems (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Trellis, etc.).
  • Commitment to creating an environment sensitive to student diversity.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced experience with data management and analysis of specific programs utilizing software like Excel.
  • Previous experience coordinating educational plans and services.
  • Progressively responsible administrative/coordinative/program experience.
