SCALE Work Experiences Program Lead

Job Summary

The SCALE Work Experiences Program Lead will coordinate relationships with 50+ government and industry partners for the Scalable Asymmetric Lifecycle Engagement (SCALE) program, a major microelectronics workforce development program funded by the Department of Defense. SCALE enhances U.S. competitiveness and national security through a nationally coordinated and innovative approach to developing the next-generation microelectronics workforce.  

 

This position will work with government and industry partners to identify internship and post-graduation employment opportunities within the US defense microelectronics sector and to share them via a job board within the SCALE network of ~ 500 students across 20+ different universities.  Moreover, the Program Lead will champion delivering differentiated students to the defense microelectronics field by: (1) developing effective, efficient means of student-to-employment opportunity matching;  (2) surface and share employer best practices for student work experiences; (3) serve as a voice of employers to SCALE faculty regarding student knowledge/skills/abilities (KSA) development needs; and (4) build network and relationships with government and industry partners that inform and inspire students to pursue a career in the defense industry.

 

The position will interact closely with SCALE leadership, evaluation teams, technical leads and faculty at consortium universities, a wide range of personnel at government and industry partners, and SCALE students.  The successful candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders on a timely basis, both 1:1 and in steering committee settings.

 

Required:

  • Bachelors in Engineering, Science, or Technology
  • Eight (8) years of professional or academic work experience in one or more of the following fields: science, engineering, project management, and/or human resources
  • Proven experience developing and implementing programs involving industrial or government employer relationships, student/workforce development, and recruiting/talent management
  • High degree of initiative and self-sufficiency, with ability to work independently to produce results
  • Sufficient domain knowledge to understand and communicate constructively with domain experts in engineering and/or science as well as with faculty, students and defense program partners
  • Effective presentation, communication, collaboration and time-management skills
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and effectively manage interactions with multiple, competing and at times conflicting, stakeholders

 


Preferred:

  • MS or PhD
  • Experience working in an academic environment and with defense program partners
