SCADStory Operations Manager

As the operations manager of SCADstory, you will provide daily operational support including the execution of the start of day/end of day procedures, accurate check-in and registration of guests, mentoring and supervision of SCADstory student staff, and the facilitation of events. Responsibilities include managing administrative tasks, maintaining the record of daily visitation to identify and resolve errors, and update records accordingly. You will coordinate the onboarding of student docent staff and manage the inventory of printed marketing material to distribute to local businesses and outlets while managing guest relations.  


Expectations include the ability to maintain the functionality, cleanliness, and sanitization efforts of the SCADstory; frequent communication as the liaison to campus safety and housekeeping; and collaboration with the SCADstory technical team. You must be able to maintain an excellent working relationship with colleagues in other departments and provide communication to guests when reservations require rescheduling or cancellation. The operations manager should demonstrate a keen knowledge about the university’s history, mission and vision, awards and recognitions, programming and events, resources, educational opportunities, and the admission process. Additionally, you must maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues in other departments that regularly engage with SCADstory.  


Minimum Qualifications:   


  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, time-management, organizational, verbal, written, and customer service skills 

  • Must possess a high level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multi-task 

  • Ability to exercise good judgment and make appropriate decisions in performance of duties 

  • Ability to demonstrate high quality standards and accuracy in work  


Preferred Qualifications:   


  • Prior work experience customer service and operations 


Travel required:  


  • Less than 10% 


Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
