The Shared Business Services Center (SBSC) is seeking customer service focused individuals to join its team of specialists! We provide a hybrid remote working environment in which you will work up to 80% of the week from home, while reporting to campus at least one day per week. Essential Duties: 


Payroll/HR Specialists are responsible for daily payroll and HR support within the Shared Business Services Center. This includes but is not limited to: processing appointment request forms, entering electronic personnel action forms (ePAFs), entering funding changes, submitting payroll related cost transfers, reviewing payroll extract/actual reports by deadlines, maintaining payroll worksheet by department, providing assistance to employees using the time system, running queries to ensure budget is available for payroll, submitting PreAuthorizations and supporting documentation, managing Taleo job listings, assisting with new hire paperwork, onboarding new employees, and providing payroll reports upon request. Payroll specialists are required to meet regular processing deadlines and will learn and become fluent in university policies related to payroll.


 

Job Requirements

Required Education:  High School Diploma or GED, AND: 

  • 18 months of experience in accounting/bookkeeping or related field.

Skills: 


  • Working knowledge of financial or accounting to include analysis, auditing, and budgeting
  • Able to understand a chart of accounts and code entries to proper account
  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff
  • Able to produce reports and complete work within deadlines
  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
  • Aptitude for excellent customer service 

Working Conditions:

Departmental Preferences:

  • University experience
  • Associate or Bachelor degree
