Overview:

The Contracts Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) seeks an experienced, full-time staff member to fill the role of SAP Ariba Procurement Analyst Team Lead in the Contracts Division in the new Procurement Business Operations Team in the Business Services Directorate. The team is comprised of system super users that identify inefficient, time-consuming internal processes and work with the Business Systems group to build solutions that are reliable and scalable for ORNL. This position will work closely with the procurement officers to better understand their daily tasking, process and utilization of the SAP Ariba platform to execute contracts and purchase orders.  The SAP Ariba  Procurement Analyst Team Lead is responsible for analyzing current usage, recommending enhancements and improvements to optimize process and system utilization to improve user experience and cycle time.  You work closely with the Business Systems Functional Analysts with an emphasis on procurement.  You support process design, testing, and implementation along with a focus in data reporting, analytics, and end user support. The SAP Ariba Procurement Analyst Team Lead must be flexible in work assignments to support the mission of ORNL.  The SAP Ariba Procurement Analyst Team Lead also oversees the Supplier Registration Team.

 

You will work directly with key business process owners, subject matter experts, and SAP Functional Analysts to define requirements for enhancements and customizations; perform data analysis and reporting; use business intelligence tools; implement business process solutions; manage projects; provide end user support; and ensure compliance with data regulations.  If you enjoy a good challenge and want to showcase your experience with business systems and data analytics, we want you on our team.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as liaison with SAP Functional Analysts supporting Procurement Operations
  • Consult with managers, business process owners, subject matter experts, system super users, and end users concerning business needs and solutions. 
  • Benchmark industry, suppliers, associations, and other agencies concerning best practices.  Advise organizational leaders regarding change management practices.
  • Create business process documents, flow charts, and decision-making documents.  Understand and document user requirements. 
  • Work with SAP Functional Analysts to develop and propose solutions to meet business process needs and requirements. 
  • Identify and initiate process efficiencies to improve existing business processes.
  • Address regulatory and legal changes that affect business processes and system functionality.
  • Design/recommend reports and write data queries.  Analyze reports and write specifications for reporting gaps.
  • Utilize business intelligence tools to define, develop, and maintain data reports, dashboards, charts, etc.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and lead system demonstrations. 
  • Audit and assess validity of data in the ORNL business systems.  Recommend system and business process changes to maintain or to increase data integrity.
  • Identify new or changed end user security roles.  Test/clarify role conflicts and coordinate with business process owners on a strategy.
  • Advise and assist end users to understand system data, to determine optimal reports for data extraction, to set report specifications, and to analyze report data.
  • Develop and initiate training content. Communicate information on business processes, incorporating organizational rules, prime contract requirements, and other state and federal regulations.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, with an emphasis in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other business-related area.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and support multiple business areas. 
  • Business management skills, written and oral communication skills, analytical skills, negotiating skills, and project management skills.
  • The successful candidate must work well in a team environment and be highly motivated.

 

Preferred Qualifications:   

  • Experience with support in one or more of the following SAP Ariba modules desired:
    • Guided Buying
    • Buying and Invoicing
    • Supplier Lifecycle Performance
    • Sourcing and Contracts Management
    • Reporting
  • Experience with SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA.
