Position Focus:

The Salesforce Business Analyst is an essential member of the Yale Ventures team and will serve as the primary application subject matter expert. This role will be relied upon to provide end user support and training, understand, and analyze business process and needs, and translate into system specifications. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, experience gathering requirements and understands that successfully delivering high-quality outcomes requires a collaborative effort with peers, users, and stakeholders.

Essential Duties

1. Works effectively with the process owners to document the scope, requirements, objectives and performance targets. 2. Elicits and writes requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language simply, clearly, unambiguously, and concisely. 3. Decomposes business and user requirements into functional requirements. Defines quality attributes, external interfaces, constraints, and other nonfunctional requirements. 4. Represents requirements using alternative views, such as analysis models (diagrams), prototypes, or scenarios. 5. Compares functional specifications to functionality in commercial off-the-shelf software to identify appropriate matches 6. Actively contributes in the testing and quality assurance process. Collaborates with developers and end-users to insure that application functionality meets client needs. 7. Contributes in requirements prioritization and solution risk analysis 8. Contributes to the communication planning/delivery and departmental readiness plan. Supports metrics integration and execution for optimal results. 9. Contributes to the development and delivery of training to end users. 10. May perform other duties as assigned.


Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, technology or related field. Two years of related experience in analysis of business needs and development of related business systems or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated experience.


Required Skill/Ability 1:

Demonstrated experience working within all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle.


Required Skill/Ability 2:

Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst/ Sr. Business Analyst with end-to-end Salesforce or other cloud implementation.


Required Skill/Ability 3:

Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst/ Sr. Business Analyst with end-to-end Salesforce or other cloud implementation.


Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

Demonstrated experience working in JIRA, Confluence, or other Agile project management tools. Proven project Management experience. Demonstrated experience working in a university setting with technology commercialization and intellectual property management.


Preferred Licenses or Certifications:

Salesforce Service Cloud Consultant certification. Salesforce Business Analyst Certification. Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder.
