Job Description

The Sales Assistant supports the dining operation serving students, staff and guests of The Ohio State University; greets and serves customers; operates coffee equipment, makes gourmet coffee and specialty drinks; prepares and handles food and beverage orders; collects payment by cash, credit or Buck ID, prepares sales reports; takes daily inventory; stocks shelves, freezers, and coolers; maintains a clean and sanitary service and work area; position makes decisions based on established policies and procedures under the direction of the supervisor.

Minimum Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience; 1 year of experience in customer service, preferably in a food service environment; experience in record keeping.

Desired Qualifications: 2-4 years of front-line customer service experience; 1 year of experience taking and filling food orders; 1 year of experience brewing premium coffees and making espresso-based drinks; one year of cash handling experience; 1 year of experience in taking inventories; 1 year of experience in placing orders or requisitioning supplies.
