Physical Requirements
This position required ability to walk and stand for several hours at a time on an intermittent basis. Lifting object up to 25 lbs. Sitting at a workstation for extended periods. Climbing ladders and walking uneven terrain may occur rarely.
Shift
Monday-Friday; 8:00 am-5:00 pm.
Job Summary
This position develops, implements, and evaluates programs and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment for employees, students, patients and visitors. Compiles and trends injury and illness data- identifying high risk areas. Establishes relationships with University departments and develops specific injury and illness prevention plans. Produce and communicate injury illness rates and prevention program reports, web pages and presentations for a wide range of audiences. Collaborates with safety team to conduct audits, training, and presentations to communicate safety and health risks. Specific experience in ergonomics, slip and fall prevention plans, and safety patient handling is preferred.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
knowledge of MS access, excel, and word.

Preferred Education/Experience
Experience in Healthcare, environmental safety, emergency management 
 
 degree in Environmental Health Sciences, safety engineering, industrial hygiene, or related science field.
