3B PCU is 15 Bed Progressive Care unit covering Inpatient care related to Cardiac diagnosis treatment and procedures. (With the exception of VAD or Fresh Transplant population)

The Assistant Nurse Manager is involved in ensuring optimal patient outcomes through effective leadership and/or provision of patient care delivery in assigned nursing unit(s) or area(s). Promotes environment for a shared voice in nursing practice and exchange of ideas to continually improve nursing and patient care outcomes. Accountable for the quality, safety, patient experience and cost-effectiveness of patient care. Consults and collaborates with other health care professionals to coordinate the management of patient care. Serves as a resource to staff, physicians, students and others. Supervises staff involved in providing clinical patient care. Assists in ensuring the quality of patient care delivery in a specific patient care area and serves as a role model for professional nursing practice. Assists with the administration and management of personnel, fiscal, and material resources. May assume full responsibility for the unit in delegated areas and in the absence of the manager.

  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing is required.

  • Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the state of California.

  • BLS/CPR and ACLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Five (5+) or more years or relevant experience, including at least three (3) years of recent Progressive Care or ICU RN experience in an acute care hospital.

  • Demonstrated hospital management skills, with progressive expertise in patient care services.

  • Thorough knowledge to manage disaster incidents, sentinel events and ability to problem solve with critical thinking skills.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant healthcare information technology and patient care workflows and processes.

  • Proven knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing and compliance environments.

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or relevant area.
  • CCRN and/or PCCN Certification.
  • Recent Cardiac, Thoracic, and vascular procedure/surgical experience.
  • One (1+) year or more of recent Charge RN, Supervisor or management experience.
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $112,100 - $216,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $53.69 - $103.69

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
