Description

The Rhinory is new winery opening in January 2022 in the heart of Texas Hill Country, just 1:15 away from both Austin and San Antonio. There are numerous wineries in our area and it is the fastest growing wine region in the US. We need 2 rhino keepers to take care of the rhinos and interact with the public. We are looking for a more experienced keeper, as well as a junior keeper. Our focus for the keepers is on supporting rhino conservation and educating the guests about rhinos and their situation worldwide. Sales of wine and merchandise through the Rhinory helps financially support non-profit organizations such as the International Rhino Foundation. We started this project to help rhino conservation and need the keepers to be driving that idea forward throughout the day as the liaison between the Rhinory and the customers. The duties include: • Care for the animals • Coordinate vet care • Interact with patrons of the winery • Do periodic newsletters • Clean the facility • Train assistants • Inspect the facility to ensure safety for the animals and customers • Create the educational content the guests receive • Go to rhino related meetings ($1,000 credit towards meetings given each year) As needed duties: • Help in the tasting room • Help with vineyard management

Qualifications

Must have animal care experience, preferably with rhinos. We are looking for both a senior keeper and junior keeper, so experience level is flexible depending on which job you are seeking.
