ROLE of the POSITION

We seek a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor who can bring inspiration and a passion for qualitative scholarship to a dynamic and growing program that serves a diverse group of students. Priority will be placed on applicants whose active lines of research contribute to equity/anti-racist/social justice scholarship. The individual will teach introductory and advanced qualitative methods courses in the Educational Psychology program. Candidates should be conversant in a variety of theories, including critical frameworks, and able to conceptualize qualitative and mixed methods research designs. Prior fieldwork experience working across post-positivist, constructivist, and critical paradigms is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires an earned doctorate in educational research or a related field, with a specialization in qualitative methods from a regionally accredited college or university and demonstrated knowledge of qualitative research methods and educational research designs.  Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and socially-just research and teaching practices;
  • Evidence of a coherent and productive research agenda leading to publication in high-impact educational research journals;
  • The potential to secure extramural funding to support scholarly activities; 
  • The ability to work with students and faculty in varied disciplines;
  • Experience mentoring masters and doctoral students in the area of qualitative methods;
  • Pedagogical flexibility with regard to in-person, web-based hybrid, and web-based remote instructional formats.

SALARY RANGE

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
