Pay Range Information
Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.

Position Summary Information


Job Description Summary
The Residential Building Services Coordinator(RBSC) is the main liaison for facilities projects and issues in Chapman Housing. The RBSC coordinates with graduate admissions to provide housing resources for graduate students and assists with graduate placements. Additionally, the RBSC supports major RLFYE administrative operations by assisting with various departmental operational processes related to assignments, work orders, billing, check-in, and check out.
Responsibilities
Facilities Management
  • Serve as liaison to Facilities Management, Campus Planning, Property Management, and Conference Services
  • Represent RLFYE at Facilities Cabinet meetings twice a month
  • Serve as main point of contact for facilities contracted vendors such as custodial, grounds, moving services, etc.
  • Facilitate bi-weekly meetings with Project Managers and RLFYE Live On staff to work through any ongoing building issues
  • Conduct building walkthroughs on a bi-weekly basis to report any Facilities issues
  • Track and prioritize replacements and upgrades of existing Residential building furniture.
  • Support and manage transitions into and out of summer with facility repairs, damage billing, and departmental inspections

Graduate Housing Support
  • Collaborate with graduate admissions programs to help graduate students find housing
  • Maintain graduate housing interest database

Housing Operations Support
  • Provide support for various administrative processes in RLFYE including student billing, check-ins, check outs, and assignment changes.
  • Partner with Admissions to clean housing database systems of possible cancellations or deferrals (“melt” list management)

Other Administrative Duties
  • Assist with student and professional staff selection processes ·S
  • Support RLFYE front desk operations
  • Serve on division or University committees as appropriate
  • Participate in appropriate departmental and campus meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Residence Life, student life or other student affairs experience strong preferred
  • Experience with PeopleSoft and/or Starrez database systems
  • Knowledge of Chapman University policies and procedures
  • Bookkeeping and office management experience preferred
  • Ability to exercise initiative and work independently
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to track, collect, and synthesize data in spreadsheets and report formats
  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy and to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to effectively use software systems and adapt to new technology as needed
  • Ability to present and lead training for students and professional staff
  • Strong editing and proofreading skill
  • Strong commitment to teamwork and student support
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous professional experience in a college student housing facilities and/or operations management
  • Master’s degree in higher education, college student affairs, business, or a related field
  • Knowledge of student development theory and issues relevant to higher education
  • Experience with StarRez software
