THIS IS A GRANT-FUNDED POSITION LOCATED IN CHATTANOOGA, TN

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Residency Program Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management of the ACGME residency program for the UTHSC COM Chattanooga's Urology Department. The position manages the program budget, enforces policies and procedures, manages the annual recruitment process, and serves as the liaison between the program and the University, teaching hospitals, the accrediting body, applicants, and the public.

 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Serves as the department head of all non-clinical requirements for the training programs and residents.
  • Creates resident rotation schedules and monthly conference schedules.
  • Document and credential all graduate medical education that occurs within the department.
  • Prepares reports of resident work hours and procedure logs weekly; prepares drafts of all requested correspondence and submits to PD and Chair for edit and signature; prepares, updates, and maintains Program Letters of Affiliation and other regulatory documents.
  • Maintains all residency personnel records including confidential evaluation and counseling records.
  • Assists residents and faculty with the preparation of research papers, lectures, presentations, and Journal Club.
  • Prepares and facilitates all resident, faculty, candidate, and visitor reimbursement in accordance with UTCOM-C and EHS policies and procedures.
  • Documents resident and faculty time and attendance; maintains records of all residents’ vacation and sick leave. 
  • Manages the New Innovation computer program for evaluations of residents, faculty, and the program.
  • Provides direct administrative support for the Urology Department Chair and serves as the liaison between the Urology Residency Program and OB/GYN Department Chair.
  • Performs other duties as required.

    Qualifications

     

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

    EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

    EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience in administration or customer service; OR a combination of education and experience to equal six (6) years. ( Prior experience with accreditation, project management, government regulations, or higher education preferred). 

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

    • Ability to work with a very diverse group of physicians and staff.
    • Ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines and be able to take the initiative to manage multiple small training program issues with immediate direction.
    • Ability to work as an integral member of the residency management team.
    • Ability to demonstrate outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proven record of excellent organizational and management skills.

    WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work evenings and weekends. May require occasional overnight travel.
