The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Biomedical Engineering, is seeking a Researcher V.

General Responsibilities  

  • To be responsible for the overall operation of the lab. 
  • To oversee projects within the lab.  
  • To contribute to the design, interpretation and writing of grant proposals and publications.  
  • To supervise a research team, direct and teach lab practices.  
  • To manage lab equipment and supplies. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities  

  • Working with a high degree of independence.
  • Participating in projects within the laboratory.
  • Performing and troubleshooting experiments related to, cardiovascular medicine, biomedical engineering, and bioinformatics.
  • Collecting, summarizing, analyzing, and interpreting data in a professional manner.
  • Developing experiment modifications where needed.
  • Using advanced knowledge and experience of lab practices to support, direct and teach others.
  • Helping with administrative and operational lab activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Annual Salary Range     $49,004.80 - $95,500.00

     

    Qualifications

     
    • Doctorate in a related field and one (1) year of related experience  
    • OR  Master's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience  
    • OR  Bachelor’s degree in related field and five (5) years of related experience 

    Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. 

    Preferences

    Preferred candidate with degree in cell biology, molecular biology, or related biological science.

    Key Skills

    • Experience with in vivo studies Wet lab skills.
    • Experience working with animal studies.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
