Position Summary
The position will be responsible for the maintenance of mouse colony, participate in planning experimental designs, carrying out the experimental procedures, performing animal experiments using mouse models of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and data analysis. Work under general supervision to: perform in vitro cell culture experiments, including experiments using Caco-2 monolayers; perform analysis of human, animal tissues, and samples from in vitro experiments using routine cellular, molecular biology, and protein chemistry procedures. These routine lab procedures include microscopy, histology, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, ELISA, flow cytometry, Western blot, quantitative PCR, molecular cloning, and siRNA/CRISPR-Cas9, and miRNA. Also, the technician will be responsible for assisting other individuals in the lab and will perform duties as assigned by the lab. This may include maintaining laboratory inventory and ordering needed supplies, preparing supplies for experiments, record-keeping, and analyzing research data. This position will assist with the proper maintenance of lab safety documents and overall compliance with regulatory requirements.
