Position Highlights

The laboratory of Dr James Bibb at the Department of Translational Neurosciences is looking for a Researcher/Scientist III to work on  projects aimed at delineating the causes and developing new treatments for cancers including neuroendocrine cancer.

The research involves investigating signal transduction and metabolic alterations in neuroendocrine cancers using cutting-edge technologies, and multi-omics platforms. Multidisciplinary approaches include the generation of novel animal models, studies with human tumor tissue, and cell-based models, as well as metabolism, mitochondrial dynamics, phosphoproteomics, single-cell multiomics, biomarker diagnostics, and drug discovery and testing.
Successful candidates will join a multidisciplinary team within the setting of an outstanding new facility with capabilities in imaging, flow cytometry, bioinformatics, high throughput screening, phosphoproteomics, and other advanced approaches. The position is part of a well-funded research program and will provide the opportunity to produce high-impact publications and establish a record of grant award funding.
The candidate will be mentored in career development toward independent research and training to become a principal investigator. Opportunities to expand to other cancer types and other systems will be provided. Enthusiastic applicants with strong expertise in molecular or cellular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, multi-omic analyses, metabolism, animal models, and drug testing are encouraged to apply.
The mission of the Translational Neurosciences Department is to leverage innovative and advanced research approaches to discover the causes of neurological and mental health disorders and translate those insights into new therapies. The Department occupies a brand new 9,000 square foot, $15 million, state of the art research space with many advanced capabilities, and is linked to a newly constructed and well-designed animal research facility. Our goal is to establish national and international impact in basic, translational, and preclinical neuroscience research.
This position is eligible for visa sponsorship.

Outstanding UA benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance plans; life insurance and disability programs; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays; UA/ASU/NAU tuition reduction for the employee and qualified family members; state and optional retirement plans; access to UA recreation and cultural activities; and more!
