Position Highlights The Science and Technology Center "New Frontiers of Sound" in MSE is looking for a Research Scientist to join our Knowledge Transfer (KT) team. The Center is a collaborative partnership between nine Universities across the US led by the University of Arizona working in the area of extraordinary properties of topological acoustic waves. This position will assist the KT director in facilitating knowledge transfer between the partner academic institutions, industry partners, and the acoustics community.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Engage with the KT director and NewFoS teams in developing, planning, designing, and conducting research in problem-driven research projects exploring the extraordinary properties of topological acoustic waves.
  • Assist the KT director in implementing research policies, research development, and operations.
  • Works with the KT director to maintain consistent support services to researchers.
  • Collaborate and facilitate knowledge transfer (KT) between the Center, partner academic institutions, industry partners, and the acoustics community in order to meet the Center's goals of addressing US global competitiveness in the emerging scientific area of quantum information science, significantly impact the future of wireless communication, and bypass acoustic-based remote sensing limitations in the physical world at-scale.
  • Help create educational resources and paradigms to inform the next generation of topological acoustic learners and practitioners.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in scientific or engineering field related to the New Frontiers of Sound research areas.
  • Experience with working in a team research environment.
  • Experience in knowledge transfer activities.
