RESEARCHER III

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine, is seeking a highly motivated Researcher III. Under the supervision from PI and others, the successful candidate will perform experiments and other activities to assist trainees (e.g., postdoctoral fellows, graduate students) and other scientists in the lab. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute in the stem cell research and apply techniques including adult stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) culture and differentiation, gene editing in vitro and in vivo, flow cytometry and cell sorting, DNA/RNA/protein extraction and quantification, histology, microscopy and other techniques under direct supervision

General Responsibilities

As directed:

• To independently set up and perform experiments and procedures in support of lab goals.
• To collect, enter, summarize, and analyze data.
• To monitor results, detect and report unusual outcomes and suggest modifications.
• To develop and improve techniques for the lab.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Annual Salary Range         $35,570.00 - $46,300.00

• Master's degree in a related field
• OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience
• OR Associate's degree in a related field and four (4) years of related experience

Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
