RESEARCHER II

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine, is seeking a highly motivated Researcher II to join the Davis Lab. Under the supervision from PI and others, the successful candidate will perform experiments and other activities to assist trainees (e.g., postdoctoral fellows, graduate students) and other scientists in the lab. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute in the stem cell research and apply techniques including adult stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) culture and differentiation, gene editing in vitro and in vivo, flow cytometry and cell sorting, DNA/RNA/protein extraction and quantification, histology, microscopy and other techniques under direct supervision

General Responsibilities

Under minimal supervision:

• To set up and perform routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals.
• To collect, enter and summarize data.
• To monitor results and report unusual outcomes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Hourly Salary Range     $15.50 - $18.25

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• OR Associate's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience
• OR High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of related experience

Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
