The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Epidemiology, is seeking a Researcher II. The chosen applicant will recruit and screen participants for dual longitudinal research studies for osteoarthritis in the knee, (MOST) and blood pressure in young adults (CARDIA). The candidate will also perform interviews with study participants during exams and follow-up periods and serve as a backup to some study-related exam procedures.

General Responsibilities

Under minimal supervision:

  • To set up and perform routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals.
  • To collect, enter and summarize data.
  • To monitor results and report unusual outcomes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Recruit and screen research participants for study visits.
  • Explain the study specifics and consent details to participants for the study exam.
  • Assist examiners with research-related study exams.
  • Maintain institution and study-related required certifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Hourly Salary Range     $15.50 - $23.51

     

    Qualifications

     
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
    • OR Associate's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience
    • OR High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of related experience

    Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
