Minimum Requirements:

This will be an hourly/part-time position. Ph.D. with three years of applied research experience in a related field. A Master's degree and five years of applied research experience may be substituted for the requirements noted. Grade 6(Hourly)

Position Description:

This is a one-year part-time position, but extendable based on satisfactory performance. The position will entail performing biochemical and molecular biology experiments. The project investigates the pathogenesis of oral pathogens and host-pathogen interactions. Major preferred skills include methods and techniques used in microbiology, cell culturing, biochemistry, chemistry, and metabolomics. knowledge of statistical analysis would be an advantage. The project will take place within the Oral Immunology and Infectious Diseases research group at the School of Dentistry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct research projects in the fields of biochemical and molecular biology in consultation with the PI in the lab.
  • Organize data collection related to research projects.
  • Collaborate, coordinate, and schedule research activities for research students and technicians with the other members of the lab.
  • Organize and conduct statistical analysis of data generated from study results.
  • Train undergraduate, dental, and graduated students, and early-stage postdocs
  • Create written reports and documents related to data management, research methodology, and study results for the PI.
  • Develop data collection instruments and procedures.
  • Study research-related journals, and brief co-workers on findings related to the project.
  • Present and recommend new ideas for ongoing research and may recommend new ideas for ongoing lines of research.
  • May collect, edit, and present research outcomes at meetings and conferences through poster presentations or oral talks.
Target Compensation Maximum: $39.79

Target Compensation Minimum:  $26.51

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
