FAES | Center for Food Animal Health

Executes designated research in virology, immunology and molecular biology; evaluates and summarizes experimental data in a timely manner;  organizes research data; tests, evaluates and troubleshoots new or revised research methods and reagents; trains and assists other lab personnel in standard research laboratory, animal techniques and biosafety. Assists will all aspects of the experimental animal studies and data analysis. Prepares research presentations, posters, publications, and reports and posts educational and communication materials in the website; assists in sampling and epidemiological survey data of farm animals. Position located in Wooster, OH.


Additional Information:

50% Maintain laboratory operations and coordinate research activities in the lab, conduct assigned research. Prepare media and reagents; assists with sampling and processing of samples in surveillance study; use, adapt and optimize standard protocols and conduct lab assays/test procedures under biosafety level 2 conditions (virologic, immunologic and molecular assays);assist with animal handling, sampling, inoculation, challenge and necropsy 

50% Perform library searches, assists with consolidating and summarizing experimental data, preparing data for research presentations, publications, and reports and posting educational and communication materials in the website; 
order supplies and maintains lab including inventories, records and storage databases.

The salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
