The Researcher manages projects in the Swientist extension program and conducts research studies aimed at understanding infectious disease at the human-animal interface.

Essential duties include:

  • Manages projects within the Swientist extension program
  • Develop and implement biosecurity curriculum
  • Collaboratively write grants
  • Manage sample collection, testing, and data entry
  • Manages undergraduate students

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Master's Degree preferred. 1-3 years of relevant experience required. 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred. Experience with outreach, extension, and education programs, social science research experience, and grant writing experience.

Desired Qualifications

Infectious disease research experience.

Work Conditions

Bench and field work at livestock shows; may collect samples from animals for infectious disease testing.

Target salary range: $42,700 - $56,900 annually; commensurate with experience, internal equity, the units available budget, and the candidates qualifications.
