Position Description:
A Research Technologist I/II position is available in the Laboratory of Dr. Helen E. Collins in the Center for Cardiometabolic Science at the University of Louisville (position title will be determined by education, experience, and qualifications). Research will focus on understanding how changes in metabolism influence cardiac remodeling and contribute to overall cardiovascular health. Experience that includes two or more of the following: animal handling, animal breeding, genotyping, PCR, western blotting, biochemical assays (e.g., ELISA), or cell culture, is highly desired.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in ongoing studies in the laboratory
- Help handle and maintain study animals
- Prepare and analyze biological samples
- Perform basic biochemical assays and data analyses
- Regularly present and communicate findings
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field of Science and one year of related experience, including experience in at least two or more of the following: animal handling, animal breeding, genotyping, PCR, western blotting, or cell culture.
- Proficient in MS outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint with effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
$26.61
Target Compensation Minimum:
$15.41
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
