JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

A position of Research Technologist is available in Dr. Hong-Gang “H.G.” Wang’s laboratory in the Department of Pediatrics at Penn State College of Medicine, Hershey, PA. Research in this laboratory aims to better understand the fundamental mechanisms of apoptosis and autophagy in the context of oncogenesis. The candidate will act as lab manager and provide research and administrative support; essential duties and responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation and supervision of the lab
  • Responsible for lab ordering, organizing, stocking, upkeep of equipment, and tracking expenditures
  • Work with regulatory offices to ensure lab safety and compliance with institutional requirements
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, conferences and special events
  • Act as contact person for lab-related issues
  • Assist with research experiments

 

This position typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher (Master’s degree preferred) plus 10 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  

 

The candidate should hold a college degree or higher in life sciences or related fields with considerable experience in molecular biology/biochemistry laboratory. The candidate must have excellent organizational abilities and effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
