JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics is seeking qualified candidates to support departmental research support. This position is responsible for assisting the Principal Investigator with the development, implementation, evaluation, and overall management of grant projects while coordinating work that advances the research mission of the institution. Specific responsibilities include creating and maintaining instrumentation, data management, laboratory operations, and general administration of research activities. In addition to these strategic and operational roles, responsibilities include study personnel management, research project management, and strategic planning for current and future research projects and programs. This position requires knowledge of registering and enrolling patients eligible to participate in clinical trials/research grants; complete all study visits; managing the studies; extracting, compiling, evaluating and submitting data; monitoring study compliance and patient related outcomes; providing information and feedback on designated clinical trials; coordinating the data management systems and administering protocol operations within the institution. In addition, this position involves working independently (with minimal supervision) on complex work assignments. Perform clinical research in collaboration with other medical and nursing personnel and ancillary departments. Perform laboratory procedures including blood, tissue and/or body fluid collection, study drug infusions, processing and shipment of specimens to central laboratories. Proficiency in time management, attention to detail and organization is critical to ensure effective and efficient data management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. LPN preferred.

Typically requires 2+ years of related experience, Bachelor's Degree or higher, or an equivalent of education and experience.

This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with excellent possibility of re-funding.

  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check 
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History- 
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check
