Job Description


POSITION INFORMATION: Provides assistance to a research staff by conducting simple research experiments, collecting data and samples, keeping records, conducting literature searches, analyzing data, and preparing reports.


This position is with a clinical research group that conducts both investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored studies. Primary duties will include recruiting participants at local health clinics and other venues, scheduling visits or recruitment days, collecting data, and maintaining study records. The new hire must be able to communicate with study participants in Spanish, including but not limited to: explaining study procedures, discussing informed consent documents, answering questions, and interpreting/ translating between English and Spanish for participants and other members of the study team. The technician may perform other various duties as needed.




  • Research.  Conducts simple research and  laboratory analysis to include but not limited to measure and weigh compounds and solutions, isolate, identify and prepare specimens, and collect samples and other research data.
  • Clinical Research.  Assist in simple clinical research projects collecting data from patients and/or participants in a study or project.
  • Data Collection.  Collects various forms of data pertaining to the research project or projects, which could include database information and/or hard files. 
  • Record Keeping.  Keeps detailed logs of all research related activities.
  • Literature Research.  Conducts literature searches.
  • Data Analysis.  Conducts data analyses, interprets results, summarizes findings, and presents to Principal Investigator. 
  • Report Preparation.  Prepares reports concerning the progress of the project. 
  • As Needed.  Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

    Job Requirements


    Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in a biological science, chemistry, physics, psychology, sociology or other health related field.

    Equivalent/ Substitution:  Will accept 48 months of equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, or an Associate’s Degree plus 24 months research or healthcare experience


    • Ability to speak fluent English and Spanish
    • Ability to read and write English and Spanish
