Position Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Core Director and the Core Manager, giving technical assistance toward providing cells, media and cell culture expertise as required for projects involving cell culture. The organizational unit is the Tissue Procurement and Cell Culture Core of the Cystic Fibrosis/Pulmonary Research & Treatment Center. The purpose of the unit is to support cell culture efforts for a variety of ongoing projects within the CF Center and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation with outside collaborators and to serve as a national resource and technical support regarding cell cultures of human cystic fibrosis (CF) and non-CF airway epithelial cells. The CF Center projects are generally designed to define the pathogenesis of cystic fibrosis and other pulmonary disorders and to understand the functions of the respiratory epithelium. The Core facility will provide material and consultative support to facilitate the research of other members of the CF Center and other collaborators, including generation of cells and media and assistance in the design and performance of cell culture experiments.

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Our ideal candidate must be able to prioritize, manage tasks, handle a variety of demands, self-review work for accuracy and completeness, and understand and carryout oral and written instructions. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment is necessary. Must have experience with MS Windows and MS Office software with proficiency in performing computer data entry and database organization.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following:
* Experience handing of tissue (human or animal)
* Ability to operate and care for basic lab equipment
* Knowledge of standard office equipment
* Ability to work independently and take initiative 
* Excellent organizational skills to maintain and manage records, supplies, and samples
