Position Summary | Tian lab is doing multidiscipline research combining novel 3D printing and nanomedicine for biomedical applications. Specifically we are interested in developing 3D printed devices for vaccine and therapeutic delivery, as well as biosampling for cancer and infectious diseases diagnosis and treatment. The position will design and make novel 3D printed polymer-based devices (microneedles and cell scaffolds) for biomedical applications using Carbon 3D printing equipment, as well as perform characterization analysis of the printed parts. The position will also provide support for general lab maintenance and purchasing of required supplies. |

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | -Candidate must have basic knowledge of 3D design and printing. -Must have basic familiarity with use of database/spreadsheet, word processing, email/messaging software. -The candidate must be able to work in both team and individual settings. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | -Candidate should possess a BS degree in material science, material engineering, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry or biology. Experience with SLA/DLS/DLP 3D printing technologies with the ability to use CAD design software is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate should have an interest in biomedical applications of 3D printed device, including drug delivery. Previous lab experience with polymerization, pharmaceutical formulation or techniques like optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, is preferred. Preferred but not required includes: familiarity with the manipulation of biologics like protein and RNA, experience with tissue culture or cell based assays, or basic animal handling experience. The candidate should be able to complete a number of different tasks simultaneously and have excellent time management skills. Have a strong record of reliability, consistency and organization. Have excellent attention to detail, with the ability to follow technical work instructions. Good interpersonal skills, ability to handle criticism and to work productively with others. |
