Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (www.pharmacy.unc.edu) is one of five health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health, Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is one of the oldest health science academic programs at Chapel Hill. Position Summary
The individual in this position will provide technical and managerial support in the laboratory of Dr. Craig Lee in the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy Division of Pharmacotherapy and Experimental Therapeutics (https://pharmacy.unc.edu/directory/clee1/). This will primarily involve: (1) research support to Dr. Lee and the post-doctoral fellows and students training in his laboratory, particularly in the conduct of (a) experiments in cellular and other in vitro models and (b) sample processing and biomarker assays from biologic samples collected from preclinical and clinical studies; and, (2) managerial support to Dr. Lee in the day-to-day operation of the laboratory, including ordering supplies, documenting expenditures, maintaining equipment, managing sample storage and data files, supervising laboratory safety, and coordinating experiments.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
* Experience maintaining cells in culture and conducting cell culture experiments
* Experience with molecular biology techniques such as isolation of DNA/RNA/protein, quantitative RT-PCR, and ELISA
* Excellent organizational and communication skills
* Strong sense of teamwork
* Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
* Bachelor of Science in a laboratory science
* Experience working with primary cells in culture
* Experience with data management and analysis
