Discoveries made by our investigators may provide new diagnostic tools and therapies that can be used to advance the care of patients with diseases of the heart, blood, and circulation. The research of the Liu lab focuses on elucidating the mechanism of cardiac diseases
Position Summary
The Liu Lab is seeking a Research Technician with a strong molecular and cellular biology background and documented expertise in molecular cloning, western blotting, RT-PCR, immunohistochemistry, and primary cell isolation. This position will involve assisting in planning and performing laboratory procedures and experiments. Research Tech will collect scientific data, perform statistical analysis, and assist in graphic presentation of data. Additional responsibilities include preparing and disposing of reagents necessary for research, maintaining lab inventory, and timely ordering of required supplies
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Previous experience with animal handling, western blotting, and molecular biology.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in biology or related field. Highly motivated self-starter who enjoys working in a collaborative and team driven environment. Applicants should have worked with mice and/or zebrafish in the last three years.
