Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit

The primary purpose of the UNCG Center for Translational Biomedical Research is to conduct basic and translational research in human diseases, with focuses on biomarkers for early diagnosis of disease, understanding of disease pathogenesis and development of novel interventions for disease prevention and treatment.

Position Summary

Position is expected to support the laboratory function for the research activities conducted by Dr. Zhang’s lab.

The Job Duties are:

—Perform laboratory and investigative procedures by carrying out a variety of routine experimental techniques, including protein digestion and clean up, metabolite and lipid extraction from biofluid and tissue samples, mammalian cell culture, analytical methods such as HPLC, LC-MS.

—Collect, verify, record, and compile data and information in support of research

—Conducts routine tests and procedures dictated by the research protocol.

—Assist in the layout and maintenance of subject environment

Minimum Qualifications

B.S. degree or currently enrolled and will receive B.S. degree within 12 months.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to oversee laboratory safety and ensure that the lab remains in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
