Position Summary
We are seeking a trained research assistant to support our efforts to develop basement membrane hydrogels for vascular tissue engineering. This position will involve characterization of basement membrane hydrogels at the nano- and macro- scale. Biochemical modification of the biomaterials will be necessary for translational applications, and this position will involve spatially patterning the biomaterials using intensity gradients of UV light. Other responsibilities include basic biochemistry, cell, and tissue maintenance and general lab management.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The position requires a working understanding of cell biology and soft matter mechanics. A master’s degree in biology, biomedical engineering or related field is necessary unless the candidate has appropriate laboratory skills with a different degree or major.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Prefer candidates have significant prior experience with cell culture and biomaterials.
