Position Summary
The Research Technician will assist the Principal Investigator and members of the laboratory with experiments involving molecular biology, animal behavior, biochemistry, electrophysiology, optogenetics, fiber photometry and immunohistochemistry. The Research Technician will be expected to prepare buffers and dilutions, perform histological protocols, perform surgery, conduct basic data analysis, assist with lab and equipment maintenance and maintain rodent colonies. Training will be provided.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Training in basic laboratory skills, professional conduct in a work environment, ability and enthusiasm to learn techniques and work with animals in a research setting.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Education in related field preferred. Experience with mouse stereotaxic surgeries, perfusions, brain extractions, immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, mouse colony maintenance, and behavioral assays preferred.

Ability to work with animals.
