Position Summary:

Are you interested in working for UDRI, a national leader in scientific and engineering research, serving government, industry and nonprofit customers? Our Fuel and Combustion division invites qualified applicants to apply for our Research Technician opening!

Tis position will assist with the intention of quickly assuming responsibility, in the design, modification, installation, operation, and documentation of systems supported by UDRI in the Fuels and Combustion Division. This includes fuel system simulators, fuel farms, and other associated experimental rigs and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school degree or equivalent.
Formal technical training, beyond high school, can be substituted for up to two years of experience.
At least 3 years (for T2) and at least 8 years (for T3) experience in a research, manufacturing, or related technical environment.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Initiative in a technical working environment.
Ability to work with hand tools.
Ability to express and understand written and spoken directions.
Ability to work with computers.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Associates degree in a technology area.
Direct experience with aviation or petroleum fuel handling, drum storage, or similar operations.
Experience handling hazardous materials.
Experience building or repairing equipment for research operations.
Experience building flowing systems using metal tubing, compression fittings, electrical wiring or similar activities.
Experience working in a laboratory, conducting scientific research, or building research equipment.
