The Sehgal Memory Lab in the Department of Psychology, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Research Technician to join our team. The Sehgal Memory Lab is directed by Dr. Megha Sehgal. The Research Technician will play a crucial role in research focused on neurobiological mechanisms of learning and memory and will assist in the general coordination and conduct of research in the lab.

Responsibilities include, assisting in the design, implementation, and execution of research studies; conducting experiments using state-of-the-art equipment and techniques that will record and manipulate neuronal activity in rodents; maintaining mouse colony; collecting and analyzing data; maintaining accurate records of experimental procedures and results; collaborating closely with other members of the research team; contributing to the preparation of manuscripts and presentations for publication; coordinating lab meetings; overseeing undergraduate research assistants; and ordering reagent and lab materials.

Minimum Education Required - Bachelor’s degree in psychology, neuroscience, biology, or a related field.

Required Qualifications – One year of relevant laboratory experience required, particularly in behavioral neuroscience, psychology, or other biological sciences; strong organizational and time-management skills; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Qualifications - Technical and computer skills (i.e. be proficient in spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel and have strong skills in basic math), Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS or Prism).

The pay range for this job profile is $15.29 - $20.41. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
