The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry within the College of Arts and Sciences seeks a Research Technician  to join our team. The Research Technician will work in the broadly defined area of the actin cytoskeleton and assist in conducting and designing standard research protocols, recording procedures and training lab members, purifying proteins, preparing buffers and stock solutions, autoclaving media, maintaining laboratory routine protocols. Specifically, they will be involved in designing and cloning genetic constructs and purifying and characterizing recombinant proteins. Specific experiments may include site-specific mutagenesis, protein site-specific labeling, fluorescence anisotropy, microscopy-based assays and other. They will also help with general lab maintenance and record keeping, including receiving and storing reagents and items, maintaining instruments, and organizing lab space and samples. While training of specific techniques will be provided, substantial wet lab experience, high work ethic, commitment to success, and overall enthusiasm to scientific research are essential.   

Qualifications :  

Required: Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry or related discipline with 1 year of relevant wet lab experience.

The target hiring range is $15.29-$20.41 per hour. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
