Position Highlights The primary purpose of the position is to assist with cognitive and behavioral studies being conducted in a population of assistance dogs located in Santa Rosa, CA. The candidate will be required to perform behavioral testing with dogs and to record data during experiments. They will also contribute to electronic data entry and scheduling and coordination of research procedures. The position requires that the candidate can conduct daily work in Santa Rosa, CA for a period of 4-8 weeks. Research will be conducted at 2965 Dutton Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95407. Candidates must be able to complete daily work at this location.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement cognitive and behavioral tests with dogs.
  • Electronic data entry.
  • Research scheduling, coordination, and data management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability work safely and effectively handle dogs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with members of a research team.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Google Docs Editors.
  • Ability to comfortably conduct behavioral testing with dogs for up to 6 hours per day (including frequent kneeling, squatting, sitting on ground, set up and take down of research apparatuses).
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma

  • Previous experience working with animals
