We are a recently established research laboratory using the zebrafish as an in vivo system to study how blood and immune cells migrate into and out of different tissues. As we are actively recruiting a diverse team of scientists, this position offers room for substantial career development and the exciting opportunity to be involved in building a research program from the ground up.

Specific duties will include, but are not limited to: basic laboratory maintenance, ordering and preparing laboratory reagents, maintaining zebrafish lines, performing experiments utilizing microinjection and advanced microscopy, and recording and analyzing data using basic statistical and bioinformatics tools.

Specific skills and personal attributes required include: exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail, multi-tasking ability, being enthusiastic and self-motivated, having a strong interest in stem cell research with experience in genetics, cellular, molecular, and/or developmental biology. Experience in microscopy and/or zebrafish husbandry is desirable, but not required.

Ideal candidates should demonstrate good team-working abilities and strong collegiality as they will be part of a multidisciplinary network consisting of over 60 scientists within the Section of Hematology and Medical Oncology and the Center for Regenerative Medicine (CReM) at Boston University.


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in biology or a related field.
  • Excellent organizational skills and proficiency with basic computer software.
  • Experience with wet lab work (standard molecular techniques); expertise in bioinformatics is a plus.
  • Willingness to work with diverse experimental models, including zebrafish and primary cell culture.
