Position Highlights The employee will contribute to group efforts to analyze data collected from burned areas. They will work with a team of researchers, including from other institutions, to maintain field equipment in support of multiple projects. They will help ensure equipment is functioning properly, download data, make in-situ measurements, manage data, and help train undergraduate students. They will assist with development of field and lab protocols for data collection and set up and perform tests/calibration of field equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Write scientific reports and collaborate with other group members and researchers from other Universities and federal agencies to contribute to publications. Assist Dr McGuire with writing reports and data analysis for publication.

Assist with the management and analysis of geomorphic and hydrologic data collected from recently burned field sites. Make complex calculations using data and models.

Assist with the training of undergraduate students in the lab with specialized techniques and equipment.

Maintain field equipment installed at field sites, make measurements at field sites, and assist with creating and modifying field and lab protocols.

Maintain inventory of parts and supplies and place orders.

These duties will sometimes require creative and independent problem solving.

  • High school diploma and at least 5 years of relevant work experience
