Responsibilities

Perform experiments according to established lab protocols independently and reliably

Perform high throughput plate assays to analyze sera antigenicity

Perform tissue culture to maintain, propagate and transfect mammalian cell lines

Express and purify recombinantly expressed proteins from E. Coli and mammalian cells

Optimize the amplification and purification of DNA libraries by PCR and gel electrophoresis

Prepare and submit DNA samples and interpret the resulting sequencing data

Supervise the activity of undergraduate students

Perform ordering responsibilities for the laboratory, including taking inventory, restocking, submitting orders

Perform other laboratory or data management duties, including laboratory maintenance tasks, as requested by the Principal Investigator

Education, Skills, & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, biology or a related field
  • At least one year of relevant work experience
  • Must be critical thinker, detail-oriented and well organized
  • Must have strong communication skills and the ability to work in an interactive team environment.
